These proposed priority near-term improvements are estimated to cost $424 million. A variety of additional near-term transportation projects are expected to be developed in the same area because they are linked to specific developments or are part of near-term capital improvement programs. The combined estimated cost for the near-term priority improvements, expected projects and initial development activities for longer-term projects is $812 million. The current $490 million funding gap will need to be filled with a combination of public and private funding.
Given fierce competition for transportation funding, coordinated support for these types of proposed improvements is critical.
